Happened to watch one of the most awaited movies of the season "Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu" last weekend. The mobile technology helped me in booking the ticket at Inox here in Bangalore. Rs 170 per ticket. Was reminded of Thiruvaanmiyur Thiagaraja where I have watched 4 movies for that amount. Anyways, thalaivar padam, 3rd day 3rd show so no regrets.


People waiting for the show to begin were excited. Overheard this while walking into the movie hall
"Kaakha Kaakha maadhiri irukum illa ..."
"Poda.. Adha vida nalla irukum"


Don't know what those two would have thought after seeing the movie. This movie was similar to KK in one way that this was also a police story and some thing which dealt with the emotions of the protagonist. Apart from that, Raghavan was not Anbuselvan.


Gautam has been bold enough to take the subject of a psycho serial killer and even bold to show the killings on camera. It was sickening to see the murders but apparently the censor did not feel so and gave the movie "U/A" certification. (Vayadhu vandhavargaluku U padama ?)


Some observations,
1. The movie did not require a big actor like Kamal .. but none of the contemporary actors would have fit into the role. May be Sarath Kumar.
2. Kamal's role in the movie was limited to that of the lead actor. Yeah, it is out and out Gautam's movie.
3. Kamal looked bloated, may be Gautam wanted it .. But we do not.
4. Too much of violence in the movie.
5. Some dialogues deliveries were excellent.

Anderson : "You cant break into a house without a proper warrant."
Raghavan : "We do it all the time in India.."

I liked this Anderson guy

One great thing in this movie was that the Americans in the movie speak English unlike our Captain Vijayakanth movies where the Pakistan theeviravaadhi also speaks Tamizh.

Muzik is decent. Songs were pretty good. Picuturisation could have been better. Cinemtography is excellent.

Anyways, this movie is not for the weak-hearted. Others enjoy !
